This guide explains how to configure your Okta Workforce Identity Cloud to enable single sign-on (SSO) for My Pro Metrics using SAML 2.0. This allows your team members to access My Pro Metrics with their enterprise credentials.
Before you begin
Before you can configure your Okta Workforce Identity Cloud for logging in to My Pro Metrics, you need the following:
- An Okta Workforce Identity Cloud account with administrative privileges.
- My Pro Metrics SAML configuration details:
- Assertion Consumer Service URL (ACS URL): The URL where Okta will send the SAML assertion.
- Entity ID: Unique identifier for My Pro Metrics as a service provider.
Contact My Pro Metrics support for the SAML configuration details. In your message, include which email domain and identity provider will be used for authentication.
Instructions
Step 1: Create a new Okta app
- Log in to your Okta admin console.
- Navigate to Applications → Applications.
- Click Create App Integration.
- Select SAML 2.0 as the application sign-on method.
- Give the application a meaningful name, such as “My Pro Metrics”.
- Configure the SAML settings:
- Single sign-on URL: Enter the Assertion Consumer Service URL (ACS URL).
- Audience URI (SP Entity ID): Enter the Entity ID.
- Default RelayState: Enter the Start URL.
- Name ID Format: Select EmailAddress.
- Application Username: Select Email.
- Click Next and finish creating the app.
Step 2: Assign users to the new app
- On the Assignments tab of the app page, assign the app to the specific users and groups who need access.
- On the same page, configure Self Service if you want users to log in with their credentials without manual assignment or admin approval.
Step 3: Share SAML metadata with My Pro Metrics
- On the Sign On tab of the app page, find the Metadata URL for SAML 2.0. Copy the Metadata URL and share it with My Pro Metrics to complete the domain registration.
Step 4: Test the integration
- After My Pro Metrics confirms receipt and processing of your metadata, have a user access the My Pro Metrics Hub.
- The user should be redirected to the Okta sign-in page to authenticate using their Okta credentials.
- After successful authentication, the user will be redirected to My Pro Metrics.
- Verify that the user shown in the top-right corner of the Hub matches their Okta Workforce identity.
